Santorini has a plethora of them, ranging from famous beaches to secluded paradises. But there are five that are possibly the most beautiful beaches in Santorini of all. Red Beach
The Red Beach, near the prehistoric city of Akrotiri, is arguably the most renowned beach on the entire island of Santorini. The beach’s name comes from the ash-like coastline that created the island of Santorini because of volcanic eruptions. Perissa Beach is now one of the island’s most well-known and commercialized beaches. It’s the kind of spot where you can spend a wonderful day with friends and family, with loungers, beach bars, and a variety of water activities.
Eros Beach
Eros Beach, near the quaint town of Vlychada, is another dark-colored beach worth seeing in Santorini. It may be difficult to reach here due to its location in the southern half of the island. But that’s what makes the journey worthwhile! The deity of love in Greek mythology is known as Eros, and the name is a perfect match for this lonely beach. Eros beach is ideal for a romantic get-together because of its isolated location. No one will notice you from a mile away if you get as personal as you wish!
Vourvoulos Beach
Now, if you’re looking for a more private beach than Eros Beach, go over to Vourvoulos Beach! This white stretch of pebbly beaches, white boulders, and deep blue ocean waves is ideal for people looking for a private beach. Even if there are other people on the beach, you may still travel a little further away and find a position that seems similarly isolated. However, keep in mind that this also means there are no businesses in the neighborhood. So, if you’re planning a trip here, make sure you carry your own food, beverages, and other necessities!
Kamari Beach
Finally, there’s Kamari Beach. This beachfront, which is bordered on one side by the town of Kamari and on the other by Fira, Santorini’s main center city, provides the best of both worlds. The beach is broad enough that you can find a semi-private location, which is the next best thing to a day on a hidden beach. Kamari Beach, on the other hand, is a strongly commercialized location with umbrella-shaded loungers, seaside cafés, beach bars, and other amenities. So, you’re all set in terms of drinks! Furthermore, the location is densely forested, allowing you to enjoy more natural shade!
